A Walk With Nature – Architect Designed Concept Retreat

Designed to have direct attachment to the surrounding landscape, this concept proposal for a holiday retreat intends to reconnect the inhabitants with nature. The concept comprises of three rooms which have no direct link internally; all room transitions purposely take place outside the building in the natural elements.

The design actively engages the human senses to heighten one’s immersion in nature. At ground level, the use of pebbles creates sound and texture under foot, heightening the consciousness of the natural surroundings. Whilst at tree level, a green roof and viewing terrace offer an accentuated visual perspective. The palate of simple raw building materials and white surroundings acts as a backdrop for accepting the dappled shadows of the surrounding gum trees, further enhancing this visual experience.
